Wind Knocks Over Billboard, Destroys Four Cars

Winds from Monday's storm forced a billboard to fall over in the parking lot of Advantage Chevrrolet of Bolingbrook.

Strong winds from Monday's storm knocked over an billboard, which destroyed four cars in its lot.

The billboard was knocked over at some point Monday night or early Tuesday morning, said Bolingbrook Police Lieutenant Mike Rompa.

John Fisher, a manager at the car dealership, said the four cars that were affected were completely totalled and that the costs incurred would likely be covered by insurance. All of the cars damaged were used, Fisher said.

"There was a bunch of damage," he said. "I had the day off yesterday and I came in this morning and the sign was just on top of the cars."

The billboard, which sat in the middle of the dealership's front parking lot essentially snapped in half and fell over, missing Route 53 by inches.
