Woman Injured After Bolingbrook House Fire: Fire Department
The elderly woman has second- and third-degree burns to her elbows, hands, feet, and knees, officials said.
BOLINGBROOK, IL — An elderly woman has suffered second and third-degree burns after a fire on Tuesday morning in Bolingbrook, the Bolingbrook Fire Department told Patch.
Firefighters were called to a structure fire on Leicester Court at 8 a.m. Tuesday after reports of smoke and flames at the home, the department said. Crews began fire suppression efforts and conducted a search of the property; the fire was brought under control within 15 minutes, preventing spread to nearby structures.
The elderly resident of the home was injured, including first-degree burns to her lower back and head, as well as second- and third-degree burns to her elbows, hands, feet and knees. She was transported to Loyola University Medical Center by Bolingbrook Fire Department paramedics in stable condition, the department said.

"Our thoughts are with the injured resident and her family during this difficult time," the department said. "We commend our crews for their swift and professional response, which ensured the safety of others and contained the fire."
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Bolingbrook Fire Department.
