Chicago Mag Crowns Best Grub in Bucktown, Wicker Park

Sweets, tacos and a romantic atmosphere earned the 'hood city-wide recognition.

Unpretentious pasta, M&M cookies and classy taco take-out are putting Bucktown and Wicker Park on the city's food map.

Chicago Magazine ranked the best neighborhood grub, and reporters chose three locals for their favorites. Out of the 234 square miles of Chicago food land, writers ranked where residents should spend time in their 'hood.

Antico's gnocchi three ways earned them the best date-night dinner title, while Bake's oozing tarts and chocolate raspberry muffins took the best dessert title.

When thinking of the Wicker Park food scene, writers didn't forget about the area's famed outdoor taco joint. But Big Star didn't take a title for its margaritas or al fresco atmosphere. Instead, the Paul Kahan restaurant earned the best spot for late-night junk food.
