Cops Seek Culprit Behind Pedestrian Hit and Run

Chicago Police are reaching out in hopes of finding the driver responsible for hitting a pedestrian north of the Bucktown and Wicker Park area.

Police are looking for the culprit behind a nearby hit-and-run accident in which a pedestrian was struck.

The crime occurred north of the neighborhood's borders along Milwaukee and Ridgeway avenues, but investigators are asking those living across the North Side for help.

They say that around midnight on July 14, a pedestrian was hit in that area by someone driving a Chevy Suburban.

The vehicle was headed south on Milwaukee Avenue and continued doing so after the crash. 

"The Suburban is described as an older model, black in color with chrome bumpers and blue headlights," the community alert says. "Help is needed from the community ... "

Anyone who has knowledge of this incident or observed the vehicle on the date of the crash is asked to contact the Chicago Police Department's Major Accident Investigation Unit at 312-745-4521.
