Goat's Head Left Outside Wrigley Field (VIDEO)

Police are on the hunt for a man who delivered a goat’s head to Wrigley Field Wednesday afternoon, specifically addressed to Cubs owner Tom Ricketts, reports the Chicago Tribune.

The man drove up to Wrigley around 2 p.m. and handed the package to a security guard, Cubs spokesman Julian Green told the Tribune. He asked the package be delivered to Ricketts, got back in his truck and drove off.

Wednesday’s baseball game versus the Brewers was cancelled mid-afternoon.

Police responded to Wrigley Field around 2:30 p.m. after they were called about the “intimidating package,” Chicago police spokesman Officer Veejay Zala told Crain’s Chicago.

Legend says the goat reference dates back to the 1945 World Series when the Billy Goat Tavern owner wasn’t allowed to bring his goat into Wrigley Field. The man supposedly placed a cruse on the Cubs as revenge.

The Chicago Cubs are still in negotiations regarding the $300 million Wrigley Field renovation and $200 million in developments to the surrounding neighborhood. Initial plans had the Cubs reaching a deal by opening day, which was Monday.
