HT fall sports: Boys soccer & Girls volleyball struggle
Young Varsity teams finding their "way" early on this fall season. updated 09.21.21.
Both the Holy Trinity Boys soccer and Girls volleyball squads are "finding their way" during the start of the Fall of 2021 sports season.
Not only are the team members "learning their systems" for success in game situations, but they are also trying to navigate any-and-all COVID-19 safety precautions too.
AND, due to the fact that both the Boy's soccer and Girl's volleyball teams are "made-up" of younger players learning varsity techniques, any measurement for team successes thus far can only be described as "small steps" thru the opening contests this fall.
GIRLS VARSITY VOLLEYBALL -- currently with one win and three losses overall and one win, two losses in Chicago Prep Conference play.

The Varsity went three games for the second time in two contests, winning the first game of the set before falling in games 2 and 3 to their Chicago Prep conference opponent on the road Monday evening.
HT's record stands at 1-3 in league play and 1-4 overall.
Featured for Holy Trinity in the Josephinum match, was Breona Valdez (10 service points, with six ace serves, and two spike kills); Sabrina Espinoza (four service points, and 3 aces); Yahaira Solano (seven service points, four aces, and two kills); Paola Ramirez (7 service points, three aces and 2 kills); Madison Richter (five service points, 2 aces, two kills); Kaniia Woods (a service point and 2 kills); Isabella Carranza (an ace serve); Nicole Styskun (one kills) and Patricia Ezeanyim (one service point).
Even with the setback, the team did "put a fine effort" into this contest, and with a little more playing time under their belts, the Varsity should be able to secure that elusive victory with more to follow.
In the lower-level contest, HT's Junior Varsity fell to the Cougars by scores of 13-25, 12-25.
NEXT ACTION takes place on the road this Friday, September 24th, when both levels travel to Lake View high school 4015 North Ashland for a pair of contests set to begin at 5 p.m.
