HT Winter Sports: Varsity Boys Victorious @ Steinmetz tourney

Boys and Girls basketball update.

HT Boys Varsity roundup:

In the first game of the Steinmetz Holiday Tourney hosted by the Streaks Varsity team at their school, the Holy Trinity Tigers were victorious by a final score of 45 to 43 over the host school.

It was a close contest the entire game.
By halftime, the score was knotted at 14-all.
HT came out strong in the 3rd stanza and led by three heading into the final eight minutes of play.
At this point, Steinmetz went on a fourth-quarter run that had them ahead by 6 with 1:36 left in the contest.
It was here that HT was able to go on a 7-0 run to close out the game and garner the 45-43 winning margin.
HT (2-1) featured Junior Dylan Little, who led all scorers with 23 points.
Junior Matthew Henderson added 9 points and Freshmen Drayton Williams seven.

In earlier games on the HT schedule, the Varsity fell in their opening game of the season by a final score 44 to 27 on the road @ Julian high on November 24th but followed with a win two nights later as they dispatched Chicago Richards high on the road by a final score of 60 to 54.
Tonight -- November 30th -- the Sophomore and Varsity Tigers entertain local rival Latin School in 2 games, with the lower level tipping off @ 4:30 pm and the Varsity to follow @ 6 pm.
Chicago Prep Conference league action opens this Friday, December 3rd, on the road, as both levels once again will be in action @ Northtown Charter in games set for 5 pm and 6:30 pm.

The HT Lady Tigers Varsity plays @ Catalyst-Maria this evening, November 30th, in one contest set to begin at 5 pm.
Catalyst-Maria is located at 67th and Kedzie Ave.
Following today's contest, the Junior Varsity and Varsity have two upcoming games on their schedule.
A non-conference match-up @ Chicago University High on Monday, December 6th (Jv/V -- 5 pm and 6:30 pm), and a home date Thursday, December 9th when they face local rival Josephinum in conference play (Jv/V -- 5 pm/ 6:30 pm) that evening.
Currently, the Varsity record stands at two wins and three losses. The Varsity finished in second place in their "just" completed Thanksgiving tourney with more action to follow.
