Buffalo Grove Village Manager Receives ICMA Credentials

Dane Bragg received the Credentialed Manager designation from ICMA, one of more than 1,400.

From the Village of Buffalo Grove: Dane Bragg, Village Manager of Buffalo Grove, Illinois, recently received the Credentialed Manager designation from ICMA, the International City/County Management Association. Mr. Bragg is one of more than 1,400 local government management professionals currently credentialed through the ICMA Voluntary Credentialing Program.

ICMA’s mission is to encourage excellence in local governance by promoting professional management, and increasing the proficiency of appointed chief administrative officers, assistant administrators, and other employees who serve local governments and regional entities worldwide. The organization’s nearly 10,000 members in 27 countries also include educators, students, and other local government employees.

To receive the prestigious ICMA credential, a member must have significant experience as a senior management executive in local government, have earned a degree, preferably in public administration or a related field, and demonstrated a commitment to high standards of integrity, as well as lifelong learning and professional development.

Village President Beverly Sussman commended Bragg on his credential, stating, “On behalf of the Buffalo Grove Village Board, I would like to congratulate our Village Manager, Dane Bragg, on receiving the Credentialed Manager designation from the International City/Council Management Association (ICMA). Mr. Bragg is an outstanding Village Manager; his past and present accomplishments speak for themselves. He has most certainly fulfilled ICMA’s mission.” Bragg is qualified by more than 18 years of professional local government executive experience.

Prior to his appointment in 2010 as Village Manager of Buffalo Grove, he served as City Manager of Galesburg, Illinois and Assistant City Manager in Decatur, Illinois. Additionally, he has served on various state and national association committees and conference panels on subjects ranging
from finance to economic development and infrastructure planning.

Other significant contributions include membership and participation on the Northwest Water Commission (Treasurer, current), Northwest Central Dispatch System (President, 2015-16) and the Rotary Club of Buffalo Grove (President, 2016-17). Bragg is also credentialed through the American Institute of Certified Planners (2001).
