Come to this in-person event to learn about the newest FairMaps initiative on Saturday, January 10, at 1:00 p.m. at the Deerfield Public Library, hosted by the League of Women Voters of Deerfield/Lincolnshire.
LWV of Illinois has joined a bi-partisan group to promote a more fair method for the required ten-year redistricting that will occur after the 2030 Census results are available. It involves circulating petitions for an amendment to the Illinois Constitution and it will only affect Illinois General Assembly districts. (This is unrelated to the current Congressional redistricting efforts that have been in the news in other states.)
Attendees will learn the reasons why an improved method is needed in Illinois and petitions will be available for signing and circulating. Free and open to the public.
