Fire At Wheeling Motel Leaves 1 Firefighter With Minor Injuries

Officials from the Wheeling Fire Department said the Red Cross and Human Services Department are helping residents find temporary shelter.

WHEELING, IL — One firefighter was injured and no occupants were hurt after a fire at Olde Court Inn Motel Sunday night, fire officials said.

Authorities were dispatched to the scene at 374 North Milwaukee at around 9:30 p.m. When crews arrived, smoke was coming from the building. After cutting power, crews were able to extinguish the fire.

One firefighter was treated at the scene with minor injuries. The American Red Cross and Wheeling's Human Services Department are helping displaced residents find somewhere to stay while the motel is under repair.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
