Making Moves For Highland Park: A Dance Benefit Performance

Proceeds from the Aug. 21 performance in Buffalo Grove will be donated to the Highland Park Community Foundation.

Park District dance companies from across the northern suburbs are joining together for a dance performance, with all proceeds being donated to the Highland Park Community Foundation. The performance will take place on Sunday, August 21 at 3 pm at the Buffalo Grove Park District Community Arts Center, located at 225 McHenry Road in Buffalo Grove.

Over 150 dancers from Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Carol Stream, Des Plaines, Grayslake, Gurnee, Hoffman Estates, Lake Forest, Lake Zurich, Medinah, Mount Prospect, Mundelein, Schaumburg and Wilmette will be taking the stage.

“It is great to see the dance community from all of the area park districts come together to help support our neighbors,” said Aly Stanczak, recreation manager for the Buffalo Grove Park District, and producer for the event. She added, “From our staff, who are volunteering their time and talents by designing the logo and working backstage, to our dance company parents who have donated items for the concessions and raffle, everyone is really going out of their way to make this event a success.”

In addition to the performance, a raffle and silent audition will be taking place; and, there will be concessions available for purchase.
