98 Percent Of Survey Respondents Feel Safe In Buffalo Grove: Police

The annual survey, courtesy of the police department, was mailed to 1,500 Buffalo Grove residents and business owners.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — It appears resident are overall pretty happy with the Buffalo Grove Police Department. Recently, the results of the annual citizen satisfaction survey were announced by Police Chief Brian Budds, showing high levels of satisfaction with safety and police services.

According to BGPD, survey results showed that more than 98 percent of respondents feel safe in their homes or businesses, and nearly 97 percent believe it is safe walking in their neighborhoods. In addition, 89 percent of respondents feel the overall performance of the BGPD meets their expectations. The full report is available on the Village of Buffalo Grove website at www.vbg.org.

The survey was mailed to 1,500 Buffalo Grove residents and business owners and received a nearly 20 percent response rate. BGPD has been conducting the survey biennially since 1984, with the last one going out in 2023.

"I sincerely thank everyone who took the time to respond to our survey, sharing their candid feedback," Budds said. "It is very encouraging to see that our police service satisfaction levels remain high, demonstrating our commitment to safety and excellence. These survey results will help guide our future strategic vision."

The department said responses are analyzed and assist BGPD in establishing future community policing goals. BGPD additionally uses the responses to evaluate the need for improvements or changes since the previous survey was conducted.
