Man Hospitalized After Stabbing In Buffalo Grove: Police

Police said they're investigating the aggravated battery incident.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL – Buffalo Grove Police are investigating an aggravated battery incident after a man was stabbed and hospitalized Saturday due to his injuries, according to a news release from the police department. According to the news release, police were called at 11 p.m. Saturday to an apartment building on Trace Drive for a man who had been "cut" several times and was bleeding heavily. Officers got to where the victim was and determined the offender(s) had left the area, according to the news release.

Officers helped the Buffalo Grove Fire Department with the 52-year-old injured man, and paramedics took him to an area hospital where he was treated, police said, adding that he was released Sunday and is expected to fully recover.

“Our agency, along with the Buffalo Grove Fire Department, and LCMCTF worked diligently to provide safety and security to all those involved,” Police Chief Steven Casstevens, said, in the news release. “I would like to extend my gratitude to those who responded and performed their duties at the highest levels.”

According to the police department, this was a "targeted and isolated incident, and there is no threat to the community." Investigators with the Buffalo Grove Police Department, with the assistance of the Lake County Major Crimes Task Force (LCMCTF) determined the offender and the victim were known to each other.
