Man Struck, Killed By Metra Train In Buffalo Grove: Police

The 26-year-old man was reported dead at the scene after being struck by a train at the Prairie View Metra station.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — A 26-year-old man was killed Monday morning after police said that he was struck by a Metra train near Buffalo Grove.

The incident took place at 7:40 a.m. on Monday before Buffalo Grove police were called to the Prairie View Metra station in the 2700 block of North Main Street for the report of a person struck by a train.

Police arrived to find the man dead. Metra Police are investigating the incident and have not released further information. The tracks have been re-opened with Metra trains traveling at a reduced speed, police said.
