Upon moving to Illinois and joining the Buffalo Grove Park District, Jenn realized the expansive network and continuing education opportunities offered by the Illinois Parks and Recreation Association (IPRA), as well as the Association of Aquatics Professionals (AOAP). She enjoys bringing the knowledge back to her staff to continue to inspire and grow their knowledge.

Jenn has been an active member of the IPRA Facility Management section and Aquatics Committee since 2017. Since January 2021, Jenn has served as co-chair of the Aquatics Committee, and since 2021 as a board member for the Facility Management section. She currently holds the position of secretary.

Jenn recently joined the AOAP's Conference and Education Committee, and has served on the Drowning Prevention Committee since 2021.

Buffalo Grove Park District Executive Director, Ryan Risinger said, “Our entire Board and staff couldn’t be more proud of Jenn. She does a fantastic job running our aquatics facilities; and, she’s one of those people who always has a smile on her face, and looks to help out wherever she can throughout the Park District.” Risinger added, “I am not surprised that she has been recognized like this by her peers in the industry.”

Jenn said, “I am very honored to have been selected, and am grateful for the opportunities that the Buffalo Grove Park District allows for me to seek further education and leadership positions in various organizations. I enjoy learning and being involved with the Association of Aquatics Professionals, as it allows me to pass the knowledge down to the lifeguards to allow them to be the best they can be, as well as providing a safe environment for everyone coming to the pool. I am thankful to my pool managers when I was a lifeguard, who fostered a passion for aquatics, and to all the professionals I work with, both on a state and national level, keeping that passion strong.”
