Police Blotter: Home Burglarized, Loud Music Disturbs Neighbors

ALCOHOL

Laureen A. Spoor, 46, of the 1400 block of Lenox Court, Wheeling, was charged with driving under the influence, driving with a blood-alcohol content above the legal limit and failure to signal when required at 2:46 a.m. March 16 on Armstrong Drive and Weiland Road.

Keith E. Pouska, 36, of the 100 block of Phaeton Drive, Wheeling, was charged with driving under the influence, driving with a blood-alcohol content above the legal limit and speeding at 1:24 a.m. March 17 on McHenry Road near short Aptakisic Road.

ANIMALS

A resident reported finding a female, brown cocker spaniel at 11:38 a.m. March 16 on the 900 block of Beechwood Road. Police contacted the dog’s owner and the dog was returned to its home.

BURGLARY

A resident of the 1600 block of Joseph Court reported their home was burglarized between 6-9 p.m. March 15.

COMPLAINTS

A resident of the 100 block of White Branch Court reported loud music coming from his neighbor’s unit at 10:30 p.m. March 15. Officers attempted to contact the neighbor but were only able to leave a voicemail message. 

A resident of the 700 block of Hapsfield Lane reported loud music coming from their neighbor’s unit at 10:41 p.m. March 15. Officers arrived and spoke with the neighbor, who turned the music down. 

DRUGS 

Demetrius D. Lewis, 19, of Des Plaines, was charged with possession of cannabis, driving without a valid license, failure to signal when required, illegal lane use and driving without insurance at 9:04 p.m. March 17 on Bernard Drive west of Buffalo Grove Road.

FOUND PROPERTY

A resident turned in a black wallet that he found near the community mailboxes at 7 a.m. March 13 on the 1000 block of Courtland Drive. Officers will contact the owner. 

PHONE HARASSMENT

A resident reported March 15  he has been receiving calls and text messages from his ex-girlfriend. Officers contacted ex and advised her that the calls needed to stop. 

PROPERTY DAMAGE

A resident on the 1000 block of Whitehall Drive reported damage to several shrubs, a fence topper and a gutter at 9 p.m. March 15.

A resident of the 1100 block of Franklin Lane reported her mailbox was damaged between March 16-17. Officers observed fireworks related to the damage. 

SUSPICIOUS NOISE

A resident of the 1100 block of Franklin Lane reported hearing a loud noise at 1:06 a.m. March 17. The area was checked thoroughly and nothing unusual was found. 

THEFT

A resident of the 400 block of Glendale Road reported that someone stole several pills from a prescription pill bottle in her medicine cabinet on March 13.

A resident reported someone used his credit card account to make an unauthorized online purchase on Feb. 19 and tried to open up a Walmart account using the resident’s name.
