Police Blotter: Jewelry Stolen from Art Festival, Bike Abandoned at Bus Stop

ANIMALS

Officers responded to a report of a barking dog at 10:29 a.m. July 14 on the 800 block of Essington. Officers heard the barking and contacted the owner.

LOST/FOUND PROPERTY

A citizen reported he lost his money clip at 2 a.m. July 12 on the 1-100 block of West Lake-Cook Road. 

A citizen dropped off at the police department a checkbook that they found July 13. The owner was contacted and came in later to get it. 

A citizen found a child’s play purse at 11:44 a.m. July 13 on the 1100 block of Green Knolls. The purse was taken to the police department for safekeeping.

A citizen reported finding an Illinois license plate at noon July 13 on the 300 block of Bernard Drive. Officers contacted the owner. 

A citizen reported he lost his Nevada driver’s license at 1:28 p.m. July 13 at a bank on the 100 block of McHenry Road.

Officers located a black Hyper BMX bike leaning against the Pace bus stop at Deerfield Parkway and Milwaukee Avenue at 9:22 p.m. July 13. The bike was taken back to the police department for safekeeping.

PROPERTY DAMAGE

A resident of the 3000 block of Indian Creek reported damage to their outside air conditioning unit at 9:25 a.m. July 12. The damage appeared to be caused by a BB gun. 

A mailbox on the 1000 block of Harvard Lane was broken off the post between 2 a.m.-7:58 a.m. July 13. 

SUSPICIOUS PHONE CALL

A resident reported receiving a phone call at 12:49 p.m. July 13 from an unknown person who stated he was going to deliver a medical alert alarm. The resident advised the caller she did not place the order and then hung up. 

THEFT

A complainant reported the theft of a ring at 4:15 p.m. July 13 the Buffalo Grove Art Festival.
