Video Shows Cars Passing Bus Stopped For Buffalo Grove Student
Buffalo Grove parents are voicing their concerns about school bus safety due to other drivers after mom captures bus stop video.
BUFFALO GROVE, IL — A Buffalo Grove mom decided to take a video of her son getting on a school bus recently due to concerns she had after seeing drivers traveling past school buses stopped to pick up students on Prairie Road, according to the Daily Herald. The video was posted on Facebook, and shows two cars going by the bus while it's stopped to let the boy on, and also shows what Katie Hoffman-Mark, the boy's mother, and others said is an ongoing problem, according to the news report.
Hoffman-Mark said police are present in the area when they can be, but when officers are absent, so is the attention of drivers. However, the Daily Herald reported Buffalo Grove police said they are aware of the issue, and that they are also taking steps to educate drivers.
