Wheeling Township Residents Invited to Property Tax Appeal Workshop

The free workshop will take place Aug. 12, two days before the appeal deadline.

State Rep. Elaine Nekritz (D-Northbrook) and State Rep. Carol Sente (D-Vernon Hills), will host a free property tax appeal workshop from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Aug. 12 at Chevy Chase Country Club, 1000 N. Milwaukee Ave., Wheeling.

During the workshop, staff from the Cook County Assessor’s
Office will be available to provide an in-depth explanation of the residential property assessment and appeal process, as well as assist residents in appealing their property tax bills. The last day for residents of Wheeling Township to file their appeals is Aug. 14.

“Increasing property taxes are a great concern for residents of the northwest suburbs,” Nekritz said. “Making the appeals process understandable for residents will help make sure the system is fair and transparent.”

For more information, contact Nekritz’s constituent service office at (847) 229-5499 or enekritz@repnekritz.org.
