Author to Autograph Book at Indian Prairie

Kevin Guilfoile's book is receiving critical acclaim for fusing history with suspense and ancient theory with contemporary mystery.

The Indian Prairie Library will host local author Kevin Guilfoile at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 14. He will talk about and sign copies of his new novel The Thousand. Guilfoile’s follow-up to Cast of Shadows fuses history with suspense and ancient theory with contemporary mystery. The Chicago Tribune has described the book as “spellbinding,” and Salon.com has called it “a masterpiece of intelligent plotting.”

Bestselling author Sara Paretsky says, “The Thousand takes the reader on a spine-tingling ride from Las Vegas to Chicago, from ancient Greece to modern America...  The Thousand is the story, above all, of a young woman’s efforts to tell truth from lies as a network of powerful people tries to use her for its own gain. If you’re like me, you’ll stay up all night until all the pieces fall into place.”

The event will include a brief reading, questions from the audience and a book signing. Barbara’s Bookstore will be on hand to sell copies of the books.
