Boat Safety Classes Offered In Willowbrook
The sessions will be held at the local U.S. Coast Guard office.
WILLOWBROOK, IL – There are still many Illinois boaters who are unaware that a recent Illinois law requires that all power boaters born after Jan. 1, 1998, to take and pass an 8-hour boating safety class and to carry a certification card with them while operating a power craft.
U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 37-25 has announced the Winter/Spring dates for the Boat America Course. The course will be held on Feb. 22, March 15, and April 19, at the U.S. Coast Guard Marine Safety Unit – Chicago, located at 555A W. Plainfield Rd. Willowbrook, IL 60527. The course runs from 8 am to 4 pm.
The course covers Introduction to Boating, Boating Law, Safety Equipment, Safe Operation and Navigation, Boating Emergencies, Trailering, and Sports and Boating. Pre-registration is required at USCGAUX3725@Gmail.com .
