Burr Ridge Breakfast Place Closes
It opened to fanfare in 2022, with the mayor and others breaking eggs on the floor.
BURR RIDGE, IL – In May 2022, Burr Ridge Mayor Gary Grasso and others celebrated the opening of Yolk restaurant in a public ceremony.
Its closure was quieter.
Earlier this month, the breakfast restaurant at 595 Village Center Drive shut its doors after 2½ years.

During the 2022 event, Grasso and others threw eggs on the floor.
"This is a moment we have been waiting for for over a year," ower Taki Kastanis said at the time.

The chain started in Chicago's South Loop in 2006. Six other locations are in Chicago and one is in the suburbs, River Forest.
The chain includes six out-of-state restaurants – four in the Dallas area and two in Indianapolis.
According to its website, Yolk plans to open a restaurant in Boynton Beach, Florida, in early 2025.
