Burr Ridge Gets New Mexican Restaurant

The eatery celebrates the "rich tapestry of Mexican cuisine."

BURR RIDGE, IL – A Mexican restaurant has opened in Burr Ridge Village Center.

Owned by John and Lizzie Mauro, Bar Poca Madre, 735 Village Center Drive, is between Hampton Social and Kohler Spa. It is in space that once housed a shoe store.

The restaurant's first day was April 11. A grand opening is set for May 3 to 5, which is Cinco de Mayo weekend.

"From homemade tortillas to tantalizing seafood creations and an array of vegan options, Bar Poca Madre promises a diverse menu that celebrates the rich tapestry of Mexican cuisine," the restaurant's website says.

The Mauros also own La Cantina Grill at 1911 S. Michigan Ave. in Chicago's South Loop. That restaurant opened in 2006.

The Burr Ridge restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to midnight Fridays and Saturdays. Brunch is served during the weekend.
