Are We Live opened in County Line Square in 2021, near Capri Ristorante, which Rovito also owns.
In response to neighbors' objections in 2021, the owner's representatives promised at a village meeting that Are We Live would have no live entertainment, only piped-in music.
Within a year, though, Are We Live started bringing in musicians. Later, the village changed its rules to allow live entertainment at restaurants and wine boutiques in the village's business districts, including Are We Live.
In June, Capri Ristorante posted a video to its Instagram page with O.J. Simpson praising the restaurant's food. After an outcry, the restaurant pulled the video, apologizing to its customers and blaming an online contractor.
