BURR RIDGE, IL – Starting Monday, Elm Street south of 60th Street in Burr Ridge will be closed, the village announced. The closure is for the replacement of a water main and construction of a large box culvert to keep Elm Street from frequently flooding, the village said in a news release Monday. The road is expected to be reopened in September. <a href="https://patch.com/illinois/burrridge/burr-ridge-anti-flood-project-start-official">Patch wrote about the project last month</a>. Starting next Monday, Elm Street north of 60th Street and Sedgley Road will be restricted to one lane, two-way traffic during the day, the village said. The disruption, the news release said, is for a water main project that <a href="https://patch.com/illinois/burrridge/hinsdale-burr-ridge-seek-water-pact">connects the independent systems</a> of Burr Ridge and Hinsdale, which could be used to sustain both towns with drinking water during an emergency. That project is expected to be done by July.
