Burr Ridge Roads To Be Repaved Next Year
Streets in three local subdivisions are set for improvements.

BURR RIDGE, IL – Burr Ridge officials approved the roads that the village will resurface next year.
One of them is Elm Street, from 59th Street to Plainfield Road. Earlier this year, the street was the target of a $1 million drainage project.
The Elm resurfacing work had been delayed.

"We didn't want to repave a street and bring it up to new standards and then have all that heavy construction (equipment) going up and down Elm Street for the culvert project," Trustee Guy Franzese said at Monday's Village Board meeting.
The village also plans to repave 90th Street, Grant Street, Turnberry Drive and Turnberry Court in the Turnberry subdivision.

That neighborhood is seeing "big areas of failures" in the pavement, said David Preissig, the village's public works director.
"The Turnberry subdivision was last touched in 2008, with a novel pavement approach at that time," Preissig said. "But it didn't work out so well because of the underground base failures."
Finally, the village is set to repave 60th Street and Sedgley Court in the Sedgley Estates neighborhood.
The Village Board unanimously approved the road plan. Trustee Russell Smith was absent.
