Burr Ridge Village Hall Now On Market
The Village Board hired an architect to do the designs for an addition to the police station.

BURR RIDGE, IL – Burr Ridge Village Hall has been on the market for a little more than a week, but no price is attached to the listing.
That's according to information from LoopNet, a commercial real estate website.
At Monday's Village Board meeting, Mayor Gary Grasso repeated his suggestion that the village should look for a price near $2.25 million. Officials say the building may become medical offices.

The village has said that it would need to pay for $5 million in renovations if it had decided to keep the 40-year-old County Line Road building.
Instead, officials are looking to build an addition to the 15-year-old neighboring police station, costing an estimated $5.8 million

At the meeting, the board voted to pay Legat Architects up to $250,000 to do the designs. The village plans to go out to bid next March.
At the end of the meeting, trustees voted to close the doors to discuss setting the price of real estate, a narrow exception under the state's Open Meetings Act.
"As permitted and customarily followed, the asking price was discussed in closed session and will be conveyed to a potential buyer," Grasso told Patch in an email Tuesday. "If there is traction, there will be further discussion. No decision about a sale will be made until there is ample public discussion and comment about all the terms."
Three years ago, the Lyons Township High School board, with its lawyer present, went far beyond the same narrow exception. The attorney general later found the board had repeatedly violated the law.
