Cigars At Burr Ridge Restaurants? Maybe

The mayor said he would consider a request from two restaurants.

BURR RIDGE, IL – A couple of restaurants have requested Burr Ridge allow people to smoke cigars after a certain hour on their patios, Mayor Gary Grasso said Monday.

At a Village Board meeting, he said the village would look into it, making sure it would not be obnoxious to others. One of the restaurants, he said, was Pella Signature. He did not name the other.

"I told both restaurants that I would check it out to see if that's allowable," the mayor said. "They think it would spur some business on the outdoor patios in the summertime."

Pella opened in late August at 720 Village Center Drive in the Burr Ridge Village Center.

When it opened, Pella had a rough start, Grasso said, but things are looking better now. He said he was there recently.

"All of the private rooms had parties in them. The back area was fairly full. They had music," he said.

Patch left an emailed message for comment Tuesday afternoon with Pella.
