Developer Pulls Burr Ridge Commercial Complex Plan
Seven commercial buildings were proposed. Neighbors expressed concern.

BURR RIDGE, IL – A developer on Wednesday withdrew a proposal for what officials said would have been the largest Burr Ridge development in two decades.
In an email, the law firm for Bridge Industrial notified the village that it was pulling its application. The village alerted the public.
The three-sentence letter did not give Bridge's reasoning. Bridge was operating under the name Midwest RE Acquisitions.

The commercial development would have been built on the old CNH Industrial property at 6900 Veterans Boulevard.
Bridge had said its proposed seven commercial buildings would not be a trucking hub or a big box store. The 110-acre property is next to residential neighborhoods.
The project, the company said earlier this year, would make investments to improve traffic flow, strengthen infrastructure, create new public spaces, improve flood control, reduce noise pollution and bring millions in taxpayer savings.
Neighbors had expressed concern about the impact of trucks on the area.
As part of its proposal, Bridge offered to construct an estimated $7 million public works building for the village.
