Feds Make Arrest At Burr Ridge Shopping Center: Village
The agents identified the man, and a loud blast was set off, according to a village news release.

BURR RIDGE, IL – Agents from two federal agencies arrested a man Monday in the parking lot near Starbucks at the Burr Ridge Village Center shopping complex, the village said.
The agents were from Homeland Security and the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, according to a village news release. ICE was not involved; the person's immigration status was not a factor in the arrest, the village said.
Burr Ridge police were informed of the presence of the federal agents before the arrest. Local officers and Mayor Gary Grasso witnessed it, the village said.

In response to a Patch inquiry, Grasso said the blast was not a shot, but a "noise loud enough to get (them) to stop what they were doing." It was probably for the overall safety of bystanders, he said.
In the news release, the village said, "The Village of Burr Ridge respects and supports law and order, as well as all dedicated federal, state, county, and local first responders, and will continue to work internally and with other agencies to the extent allowed by law to ensure that all residents and businesses in the Village are protected from crime and violence."
