Hinsdale Police Reports: Shattered Windows, Trap Theft, Hit and Run

Hinsdale Police Department reported crimes through Dec. 15.

Someone hit a parked car between 5:10 and 5:15 p.m. Dec. 8 in the 500 block of Chestnut Street, according to Hinsdale police. A witness reported a white box truck backed into the car and left the scene.

Someone reported an identity thief tried to get his bank account information Dec. 8, according to Hinsdale police. The suspect couldn’t answer a security question from the bank, so the bank contacted the account holder.

A car’s back window was shattered between 10:35 and 11:20 p.m. Dec. 11 in the 100 block of East Ninth Street, according to Hinsdale police. The car was parked in a residential driveway, and a broken golf club was found near the car.

Someone used a victim’s credit card information Dec. 3 to make two fraudulent online charges for $244.58 and $243.78, according to Hinsdale police.

The back window of a parked car was shattered between Dec. 11 and 12 in the 700 block of S. Garfield Avenue, according to Hinsdale police.

An 18-year-old man was seen to be under the influence of alcohol Dec. 12 while he was in a parked car at Robbins Park, according to Hinsdale police. He was charged for illegal consumption of alcohol by person under 21.

Christopher J Lendi, 31 of Kingery Quarter in Willowbrook, was found to have a cell phone that was reported stolen and numerous stolen medical supplies, according to Hinsdale police. The phone was reported stolen Dec. 14 from the lobby of Hinsdale Orthopedics. Lendi was charged with two counts of theft and released to appear in court.

Police found a damaged wooden retaining wall and a front grill in the 100 block of The Lane, according to Hinsdale police. They believe a hit and run took place between Dec. 9 and 10.

A state licensed animal trapper reported three of his traps were stolen between Dec. 10 and 13 from where he set them in the 1200 block of Hawthorne Lane, according to Hinsdale police. The traps were valued at $21.
