Hinsdale Police Reports: Underage Drinking, Jewelry Theft, Car Damage
Hinsdale Police Department reported crimes through Dec. 22.

A 16-year-old male juvenile was stopped Dec. 15 for speeding, 85mph in a 35mph zone, at Ogden Avenue and Grant Street, according to Hinsdale police. He had an unlawful number of passengers younger than 20 years old. He was charged and released to a parent.
Someone reported three pieces of jewelry were lost or stolen from her bedroom closet between April 1 and Dec. 17 in the 200 block of East Walnut Street, according to Hinsdale police. The missing jewelry was valued at $65,500.

A known suspect/former patient of of a Hinsdale business was reported to be writing fraudulent prescriptions between July 31 and Dec. 15 to obtain medication at pharmacies in Chicagoland suburbs, according to Hinsdale police.
Police were sent to an activated alarm Dec. 20 at a home in the 700 block of S. Garfield Avenue, according to Hinsdale police. Two people were seen in the driveway and fled the scene when police arrived. One person, a 17-year-old girl of Hinsdale, was found sitting on a sidewalk on Eighth and Oak and admitted to being one of the people who fled the scene. The person was observed to be under the influence of alcohol. She was issued a local ordinance citation and released to a parent.

Someone made a fraudulent charge Dec. 21 totaling $679.22 using a victim’s credit card, according to Hinsdale police.
Someone reported damage to her car Dec. 21 while parked in a parking lot in the 5700 block of S Grant Street, according to Hinsdale police. Business employees identified the juvenile offenders and their parents, who agreed to pay the victim for the damaged window. The victim did not want to pursue criminal charges.
Peter Lambiris, 40 of the 1300 block of Cypress Drive in Lemont, was stopped Dec. 20 for improper lane use and speeding at Ogden and I-294, according to Hinsdale police. Lambiris was seen to be under the influence of alcohol. He refused to submit to testing to determine BAC, and he was charged and released to appear in court.
A meeting was arranged Dec. 19 on Craigslist to purchase event tickets in a parking lot in the 100 block of E Ogden Avenue, according to Hinsdale police. One party paid $350 cash for tickets he suspects to be counterfeit.
A woman parked her car Dec. 17 in a permit parking area in the 200 block of South Washington and returned to find black paint scrapes on her car.
