King-Bruwaert House Takes Next Steps in Major Renovation Project

In King-Bruwaert (KB) House’s commitment to enhancing its campus and expanding its offerings, the senior living community in Hinsdale/Burr Ridge is developing new apartments within its assisted living area.

Over the past two years, KB House has focused on the expansion and renovation of its independent living and skilled nursing areas.

In order to meet the growing desire for larger and more upscale living spaces across the entire community, KB House is now developing several new one- and two-bedroom apartments in assisted living. Additionally, the bathrooms and kitchenettes within these apartments are being expanded and updated, creating much needed and more desirable living space in what is already a sought-after part of the community.

“With the addition of our new Gardens luxury independent living apartment homes completed this summer, the importance of large living spaces and new amenities within assisted living became apparent,” said Mark Zullo, senior director of sales and marketing for KB House. “Our assisted living program has long been outstanding, with highly skilled professionals offering daily support and engagement with our residents. We want to offer our services in a more upscale environment to which our residents are accustomed.”

These improvements complement the major expansion projects that the retirement community recently completed. The Gardens of KB introduced 43 luxurious one- and two-bedroom deluxe apartment homes. These are nearly sold out.

The Martin Jahn Pavilion offers skilled care to residents of KB House as well as from the greater community. The multi-million-dollar expansion includes 28 private rooms and beautiful shared spaces.

Future considerations include enhancements to Suzanne’s Place, KB House’s memory care neighborhood, and refreshing the front lobby and surrounding shared spaces.

“We are also planning to make improvements and update program offerings for our independent living cottages in The Woods of KB. More information on this will be available very soon,” said Zullo.

Just a short distance from the main campus, adjacent to Ruth Lake Country Club in Hinsdale, Godair Park, KB House’s distinctive rental duplexes are being refreshed with new upscale features and finishes.
