Last Chance: Deadline to Apply for Scholarship to Teen Institute on Drug Abuse is Today
The scholarship is being offered by the DuPage County Sheriff's Office.

Today's the deadline for teens to apply for a scholarship to attend the Illinois Teenage Institute on Substance Abuse, which is taking place this summer July 22 - 26. The institute will be held at Wesleyan University in Bloomington.
The Illinois Teenage Institute is open to anyone who meets the following qualifications:
- A freshman, sophomore, junior or senior in the 2012-2013 school year and is under 18 years old
- Willing to attend the entire Institute
- Willing to serve as a youth leader and prevention resource in his or her school, neighborhood or community
- Responsible
- Positive and flexible
There will be 60 scholarships awarded throughout the state. Scholarships will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis. Participants will be given tuition, lodging, t-shirt, photo, workshop materials, recreation and meals. Transportation is not included.

The Illinois Teenage Institute is a drug prevention program, not a treatment program.
Any student who wants to go can contact the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office at 630-407-2000 for an application. Applications also may be picked up Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. at the Sheriff’s Office at 501 North County Farm Road, Wheaton, Illinois.

Applications must be turned in by May 1, 2012 to be considered.
