Memory Care Seniors Find Purpose in Community Service
Harvester Place residents helped combat food insecurity when they chose groceries and delivered them to a local organization.
Residents at Harvester Place, an Anthem Memory Care community, recently did their part to help combat food insecurity. The seniors shopped at a local grocery store and delivered the nonperishable food items to Beds Plus, a homeless services provider in Southwest Suburban Cook County.
“Even though our seniors have a dementia diagnosis, they can still have a connection in the world around them,” said Danyanique Hughes, life engagement director for Harvester Place. “Many of our residents have been lifelong volunteers and giving back to the community brings them great joy.”
Harvester Place is located at 150 S. Frontage Rd., Burr Ridge.
