Restaurant Coming To Burr Ridge Village Center

The owners also have a restaurant in Chicago's South Loop.

BURR RIDGE, IL – A new Mexican restaurant is coming this spring to Burr Ridge Village Center, its owners said Tuesday.

Bar Poca Madre will be between Hampton Social and Kohler Spa. John and Lizzie Mauro are planning to open it in mid-March, with a construction project continuing, Lizzie Mauro said in an email to Patch.

In an interview, Lizzie Mauro said the space, which was once a shoe store, has been vacant for quite some time.

Bar Poca Madre's website describes the coming eatery as a "full-service Mexican restaurant and tequila bar." It said a curated selection of tequilas, cocktails and mezcal will be offered.

The Mauros also own La Cantina Grill at 1911 S. Michigan Ave. in Chicago's South Loop. That restaurant opened in 2006.
