PHOTOS: Ex-White Sox Slugger Moves to Burr Ridge, Sells Hinsdale Home

Jim Thome has bought a mansion on Elm Court in Burr Ridge.

Jim Thome, former White Sox slugger, who now plays for the Philadelphia Phillies, is selling his home in Hinsdale and has bought a bigger home in Burr Ridge, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Thome paid $4.6 million for the seven-bedroom, seven-bath home on two acres, which has a tennis court, theater, paneled library, and seven-car garage, according to Curbed.com.

Meanwhile, his six-bedroom home in Hinsdale is up for sale $3.8 million, the same price he paid for it in 2006, according to Crain's Chicago business.

His listing agent, Sally Pelling of Brush Hill, who represented him in both the purchase of his new Burr Ridge home and the selling of his former Hinsdale home did not return calls from Patch asking for comment.
