VIDEO: Hibachi Room Now Open at Dao Sushi and Thai

The long-awaited hibachi room at Dao Sushi and Thai in Burr Ridge opened this week, and customers are fired up about the new dining choice in the village.

Plans for a Hibachi room at in have been in the works for about a year now. This week, the Hibachi room opened, featuring seven custom-built tables shipped from Japan and chefs trained to entertain as well as prepare fresh food and homemade sauces.

Dao expanded its current location with the addition of the Hibachi room, taking over the former furniture shop next door.

Co-owner and manager Jojo Chen said she wanted to open a place where whole families can enjoy a night out together.

"From the clientele, I could tell it was going to be successful. This is all families [here in Burr Ridge.] You know with sushi, sometimes older people, seniors don't like the raw fish. They don't get it. They won't even try it, but this has something for the grandparents, as well as the kids, so people can enjoy family time," said Chen.

The Hibachi room and outdoor seating area is now open for summer.
