When New Burr Ridge Hall Will Be Ready
The staff won't have a central place to work for a year. The village has a plan.

BURR RIDGE, IL – Burr Ridge has developed a more detailed timeline for its plan to leave Village Hall as a new one is built.
The Village Board is expected to sell the 40-year-old building for $2.7 million to Goddard School, a preschool chain.
In January, the village plans to sign a purchase and sale agreement with Goddard. Then the proposal will undergo the village's zoning review.

In May, the village expects to close on the property, with the staff given a week to move out, according to the timeline.
Officials plan to build an addition at the neighboring police station for the new Village Hall. The goal is to start using the addition in May 2027.

That means the village staff will be without a central place for a year.
Under the plan, some employees will work out of the police station because it has a large public-facing window.
Others will be at the public works department on Commerce Street, alternating between remote and in-person work.
With the project relocating the police training room, no village-owned space will be available for larger public meetings. The village said Pleasantdale School District 107 has offered its main meeting space for Village Board and Plan Commission sessions.
In the months before the final sale, the village's staff is requesting to close Village Hall on Fridays.
"(A)s a timeline for moving has become more precise and concrete, dedicated, ongoing time to complete preparations for this important transition is critical," the village said in a memo. "Under an in-service model, staff would continue to report to work, but the building would otherwise be closed to the public."
The memo continued, "Fridays are traditionally the least patronized day of the week at Village Hall, while the winter season is usually the slowest time of year, thus minimizing impact on the public."
The village plans to generally revert to its regular business hours after the sale.
