Woman Reports Being Held Against Her Will in Burr Ridge Hotel, Prostitution Arrests Made

The arrests happened Thursday afternoon at the Extended Stay America in Burr Ridge.

Two guests of the on Frontage Road in Burr Ridge were arrested on pandering and prostitution charges Thursday.

This after two men came to the to report that they had been receiving text messages from a female friend who said she was being held against her will and being forced to “do things she didn’t want to do”.

"Officers went to the ESA and were able to separate the female subject from her alleged captors and confirm she was being held against her will. They subsequently rescued the distressed female from her captors," said Burr Ridge Police in a statement released to the press.

Carlo P. Woolfolk Jr., 28, whose last known address was 1050 N. Knollwood Drive in Schaumburg, and Jessica L. Asbury, 21, whose last known address was 1033 SW 31st St in Oklahoma City, OK, were taken into custody.

The woman who said she was held captive told police she had been assaulted by Woolfolk and Asbury and was taken to Adventist Hinsdale Hospital.

The DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office was notified, and a member of the Special Victims Unit (SVU), responded to the Burr Ridge Police Department.

Search warrants were prepared and obtained for Room 212, where the two were staying, and for DNA samples of Woolfolk and Asbury. The DuPage County Sheriff’s Office was called, and their Forensic Investigation Unit assisted with the forensic processing of the room.

After the accuser was released from the hospital, she was interviewed at the Burr Ridge Police station. Asbury and Woolfolk also were interviewed. 

The Assistant State’s Attorney approved charges on Asbury for pandering and prostitution, and charged Woolfolk with pandering. All charges are class four felonies. Additional charges may be pending after a processing and review of all evidence seized.

Further investigation is in progress. In the meantime, the victim was provided assistance by the BRPD and her friends and is safely back with family and friends today.  

Woolfolk and Asbury were taken to DuPage County Jail for a hearing. It is unknown yet whether the bail has been set for the accused.
