Foreigner and John Waite played the annual Gibson City Summer Bash on August 16th.

Foreigner, with special guest John Waite, played the Gibson City Summer Bash on August 16th.

The annual event, sponsored by Gibson Area Hospital & Health services, signals the inevitable end of summer with fans lining downtown Gibson City's Sangamon Avenue for blocks.

Unfortunately, "Hot Blooded" fans that waited in the extreme heat for hours for Foreigner to take the stage were met with disappointment not long after the band stepped in front of the crowd.

The show had to be cut short for safety reasons due to approaching thunderstorms packing strong winds and a lot of lightning: a dangerous combination when there's sound and audio equipment on a large stage among a sea of people.

Concertgoers were safely evacuated following Foreigner's unexpected finale of "Juke Box Hero".
