Man Killed In Minooka Crash Identified
One person died on the way to the hospital after a crash on Ridge Road South of I-80.

MINOOKA, IL — A Minooka man died following a two-vehicle crash on Ridge Road south of I-80 Wednesday afternoon, police said. Ride Road was closed between the I-80 eastbound and westbound ramps for several hours after the 1:20 p.m. crash, according to police. The Will County coroner's office identified the man as 66-year-old Arthur T. Surges.
Surges was pronounced dead at 1:07 p.m. Wednesday at the Presence St. Joseph Medical Center emergency room.
Minooka Police Chief Justin Meyer told the Herald-News that Surges' GMC Canyon pickup truck was headed north on Ridge when it hit a Mercedes as it was coming off the eastbound exit ramp.

Meyer said Surges died while being transported to St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.
Preliminary autopsy findings indicate Surges sustained multiple injuries. Final cause and manner of death be determined pending toxicological, police and final autopsy reports.
