UPDATE: Minooka's Martinez Finishes Before Disaster Strikes at Boston Marathon
Injuries have been reported after explosions rocked the area near the race's finish line Monday. It's not clear whether any local runners were among those injured.
Two explosions Monday near the finish line of the Boston Marathon have left two dead and several wounded, news sources are reporitng.

Bloodied competitors and volunteers were seen leaving the scene and a medical tent near the finish was being used to treat the injured, the New York Times reported.

Nearly 40,000 people compete in the Boston Marathon annually with runners coming from all over the world.
One Runner from Minooka was registered for this year’s race, according to the race’s website. The lone local entry: Javier Martinez, 46.

Chris Finney My brother who is from Channahon participated in the push wheelchair division and was lucky enough to leave the V.I.P. area about a min before the explosions.
