1st Classic Car Dealership Opens In Grundy County: Aces Classic Cars

MINOOKA, IL — A year and a half since the Chapin's East and Twin Rail Pub closed after 11 years in business, Grundy County's first classic car dealership is now open inside the former Minooka banquet hall facility. Aces Classic Cars opened this weekend with six classic cars available for purchase at 502 Twin Rail Drive, right off Ridge Road.

"Our plan is to have about 20 inside here," remarked Joliet native Brad Gall, one of the business representatives with Aces Classic Cars.

After purchasing the property, Aces spent several months remodeling the interior. The inside of the dealership features historical photographs of Minooka. There's also a 1950s diner theme.

"It's all based around classics," Gall explained. "We are the first and only classic car dealership in Grundy County."

Matt Ewert, of Ewert's Automotive across the street at 505 Twin Rail Drive, is the owner.

On Friday, the inside showroom at Aces Classic Cars featured a 1986 Ford Mustang, a 1971 Laguna, a 1963 Rambler Wagon and a 1965 Buick Regal.

"We'll buy, we'll take trades and also sell on consignment," Gall remarked.

Come summer, Aces Classic Cars plans to become a major force in the Minooka community.

Aces plans to start hosting a Friday night car cruise. On the first Saturday day of the month, starting in May, Aces anticipates holding a classic car show on its property, which includes a giant parking lot overlooking Ridge Road.

The Aces Classic Cars dealership is now open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday. It's closed Sunday and Monday.

"Aces Classic Cars does everything we can to offer quality classic cars at realistic prices," its website proclaims. "Our team of knowledgeable professionals are here to assist any time via email or phone if you may have any questions. Located in Minooka ... we are just minutes from I-80 and I-55 interchange."

In addition, Aces also offers heated storage units on its Twin Rail Drive property for other car enthusiasts looking for a place to store their classic autos. The main building for the dealership also features Pete's Public House, a bar that replaced the Twin Rail Pub after the long-time owners of Chapin's, Scott and Dianne Breslar, sold their property.
