2 Dead Following Mysterious West Side Fire

JOLIET, IL — A man and woman are dead following a mysterious fire on the city’s west side.

The Joliet Police Department has provided no information about the deaths or the fire on Sun Valley Court.

A man was pronounced dead shortly before midnight at the scene of the fire. A woman was pronounced deceased at the Presence St. Joseph Medical Center emergency room about the same time.

Both deaths were linked to the fire, according to the Will County Coroner’s Office.

The identities of the dead man and woman were being withheld Sunday morning pending the notification of their next-of-kin.
