CHANNAHON, IL — As 2025 draws to a close, the Will County State's Attorney's Office of Jim Glasgow is not letting up the gas on its efforts to seize more vehicles belonging to residents of Will County who are accused of breaking the law. Last week, a forfeiture filing was made against Plainfield resident John Kuta, who comes from the 16700 block of Hazelwood Drive.

Now, Kuta may lose his 2015 Nissan Pathfinder as a forfeited asset to the police. According to the filing, on Nov. 5, Kuta used his vehicle to visit the McKinley Woods Fredericks Grove on South McKinley Woods Road in Channahon. That day, Will County Forest Preserve Officer Mosier was on patrol at McKinley Woods when she spotted the SUV in the parking lot. She ran the vehicle registration through LEADS and NCIC and learned the vehicle registered back to Kuta, and he showed a revoked driver's license for a DUI, court files show.

As the officer waited, she eventually saw Kuta enter the driver's seat and begin his drive toward the exit; she activated her emergency sirens and lights and made a traffic stop.
