Middono, along with the mother and their 10-week-old daughter, Kora, moved into the Crest Hill Inn on Plainfield Road on May 30, 2019. Three days later, on June 2, Kora’s mother went to work and the infant was in Middono’s sole care. When the mother returned home from work that evening, she saw her baby needed medical care.
She and Middono took Kora to Morris Hospital. The baby had multiple skull fractures and was transferred to Lurie’s Children’s Hospital where she died of her injuries on June 3, 2019.
