Channahon Sex Assaults Lead To Resident's Arrest: Police
James Dobbs, 59, was taken into custody at his Channahon address on Monday without incident by the Channahon police force.

CHANNAHON — The Channahon Police Department announced Monday's capture of 59-year-old James Dobbs in connection with last summer's sexual assault of a 15-year-old juvenile. Authorities said that Dobbs now faces three counts of aggravated predatory sexual assault and six counts of criminal sexual abuse.
According to a news release, on June 30, 2023, Channahon police learned about an allegation of a sexual assault of a 15-year-old at a Channahon house on South Frontage Road West.
Channahon police learned the sex abuse was reported to have happened multiple times over the course of several years in Rockdale and more recently in Channahon. An investigation was conducted spanning more than a year and included the assistance of the Bolingbrook Police Department, Will County Children’s Advocacy Center and the Illinois State Police Forensic Science Laboratory.

Once all the evidence and lab results could be reviewed, it was determined there was probably cause to charge Dobbs.
Dobbs was taken into custody at his Channahon address on the South Frontage Road Monday by the Channahon Police and the Grundy County Sheriff's Office ProAct Unit. He was taken to the Will County Adult Detention Facility, where he remains incarcerated.
