Fire Inside Channahon Business: Here's How Bad The Damage Was
A water tender operation was established due to no fire hydrants in the area.

CHANNAHON — The Channahon Fire Department issued a press release regarding Friday morning's fire that caused substantial damage to a business at 242229 West Riverside Drive. The fire happened around 7:10 a.m.
According to the fire protection district:
- Fire companies reported a working fire inside a truck repair facility, and all the employees made it out of the building.
- Fire crews worked both on the exterior and interior of the building to bring the fire under control.
- The north half of the building was a total loss.
- The south half of the building was intact and contained smoke damage.
- ComEd and Nicor responded to the emergency to secure the utilities.
- The cause of the fire is listed as undetermined. No dollar loss was available at the time of the press release.
Agencies assisting at the scene included Troy, Minooka, Wilmington, Elwood, Braidwood, Morris, Plainfield, Lockport, Rockdale, East Joliet, Manhattan, Mazon, Joliet, Coal City, Braceville, and Wilmington ESDA. New Lenox, Lisbon-Seward, and Lockport provided area coverage while Channahon and mutual aid companies worked at the scene.
