Free COVID-19 Testing Available Near Channahon-Minooka
Ahead of Christmas Friday, Shield Illinois is offering free testing at several locations throughout the day Tuesday.

CHANNAHON-MINOOKA, IL — With the omicron COVID-19 variant quickly spreading and Christmas just days away, Shield Illinois, a COVID-19 test provider, is offering free tests throughout northern Illinois Tuesday.
Testing is free, and visitors will have results in 24 to 48 hours, according to a flyer sent out by Plainfield School District 202 about the holiday screenings. No appointments are needed, either.
Here is a complete list of testing sites, along with their hours Tuesday.
- DePaul University, 333 S. State St., Chicago (DePaul Center entrance)
- Hours: 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- Northeastern Illinois University, 5500 N. St. Louis Ave., Chicago
- 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
- Jane Addams Elementary School, 1020 E. Sayles Drive, Palatine
- Hours: 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- Woodland Elementary School, 17261 W. Gages Lake Road, Gages Lake
- Hours: 3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
- Elgin Community College, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin
- Hours: 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- University of Illinois College of Medicine, 1601 Parkview Ave., Rockford
- Hours: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Lockport Township High School East Campus, 1333 E. 7th St., Lockport
- Hours: 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- Joliet Junior College Main Campus, 1215 Houbalt Road, Joliet
- Hours: 9 a.m. to noon
- Sauk Valley Community College, 173 Route 2, Dixon
- Hours: 8 a.m. to noon
- Whiteside County Health Department, 1300 W. 2nd St., Rock Falls
